mm what a Modern World!
No more Snail Mail? Do you remember the times that you waited for postman to bring you lots of letters? How you waited till you are alone to rip the envelope and look in to the contents inside? Were you excited about just the thought of opening that letter?
Well let me remind you that I was like that. Mmmm how I waited for a letter to come everyday. A letter from a long distanced friend telling me all about her life there. How excited I was to read that all in those three or five pages describing all about her adventures. How much fun I had when I grabbed the pages from my sister, when she got a letter from her friend and ran around the house. But those moments are really gone now. No more post man to come and no more excitement in just opening the letter. Because now we have email! :(
Imagine that! A letter that can go to the receiver within seconds. But do you still get the same excitement you got when you got a mail from the post? Do you still feel the suspense of opening the letter as those days? Since Email has a Subject and a preview of the mail, there is no suspense on the contents of that mail unlike before, we have to wait till we open the letter to find out what is inside.
mm I miss those snail mail days? Will it ever come back. I still look at my mail box for any letters. Except for some utility bill I see no letters from my friends. Of course lots of utilities companies are trying to convert us to e-bill method and if that happens, no more post! :(
Do you know, some years down the road, one of our grand grand children might ask you 'Gramps, who is a postman?' wondering if any of use will be able to answer!
:(
